"African American artists have used art to preserve history and community memory as well as for empowerment. Artistic and cultural movements such as the New Negro, Black Arts, Black Renaissance, hip-hop, and Afrofuturism, have been led by people of African descent and set the standard for popular trends around the world. In 2024, we examine the varied history and life of African American arts and artisans" (ASALH). In honor of Black History Month, Regent University Library encourages you to come check out resources to learn more about this year's theme of African Americans and the Arts.

Regent University's Library proudly presents "Flashes of Memory" from Yad Vashem, which depicts how photography during the Holocaust can change perception. Regent University has spread out prints of historical events that led to N**i Germany changing the perception of the Holocaust and to turn the masses against the Jewish people. We mourn the deaths of the millions of lives lost in this tragic time in history. Join Regent University in educating individuals of the reality of history in order to ensure the Holocaust never happens again.

We are very proud of our students for standing with Israel and are very excited to continue educating students through our library displays in the gallery.

Did you know that Israel's dry climate has led innovators to optimize their water usage? The first photo shows authentic shattered pottery on display in the library that would have been utilized by people living in ancient Israel.
Thousands of years later, Israel invented a way of pulling drinkable water from the air. The company Watergen has even shared this technology with the United States when communities in Arizona were experiencing intense drought.
The third photo shows drip irrigation, which was invented by Polish-Israeli Simcha Blass to optimize their water usage.

Israel continues to share their technological advances with the world.
