The Virginia Beach Police Department is proud to announce that justice has finally been served for Roberta Walls and her family, 40 years after her tragic r**e and murder.
Today, our command staff held a press conference to share how modern DNA technology successfully solved this decades-old cold case. While some of the original detectives from the 1980s are no longer with us to witness this day, we know they would be incredibly proud. This breakthrough stands as a powerful testament to the relentless persistence of our detectives, who refused to let Roberta be forgotten.
We hope this closure brings a measure of peace to the Walls family and sends a clear message: no matter how much time passes, we will never stop searching for the truth.
