This past weekend, we had the distinct pleasure to partner with the Business Network For Offshore Wind in hosting international and domestic business executives visiting Virginia for this week's International Partnership Forum in Richmond.

As part of the pre-conference event, our team coordinated presentations from Dominion Energy, Avangrid Renewables, and other local industry leaders to showcase Virginia Beach as a premier city for do business in offshore wind. Attendees taking part in the pre-IPF weekend events attended meetings with The Port of Virginia to understand the operations happening in the Hampton Roads for import and export of goods, as well as the Commonwealth of Virginia and Virginia Economic Development Partnership to discuss VIrginia's committment to renewable energy.

Thank you Hampton Roads Alliance for hosting Saturday evening's reception with Governor Ralph Northam.

Thank you Chesapeake Bay Foundation for hosting our Sunday evening reception at the Brock Environmental Center Virginia Beach, V.

Thank you to Mayor Bobby Dyer and members of Virginia Beach City Government City Council for your continued commitment to renewable energy, specifically offshore wind.

Special shoutout to local businesses for the welcome bags goodies - Hubs Virginia Peanuts, Route 11 Potato Chips, Prosperity Kitchen & Pantry, and Crunchy Hydration.

NAS Oceana will allow private development on about 400 acres of underutilized land. The ceremonial signing of the Department of Navy and City of Virginia Beach Future Base Design Non-binding agreement, between Admiral Charles Rock and Virginia Beach Mayor BobbyDyer, occurred at NAS Oceana’s change of command ceremony on August 5th.

The Future Base Design concept would provide a plethora of new opportunities - land that could be leased to private businesses in exchange for in-kind consideration that could provide building maintenance and other infrastructure projects on the installation.

1 Million Cups - Today's guest speaker, Chasity Pritchett with Emblem Olive Oil, discussed her idea for healthy infused olive oils, and how she landed a major distribution opportunity with Kroger. She developed a process to infuse olive oil using only local produce such as garlic, herbs, sun dried tomatoes, and jalapeño peppers into extra virgin olive oil that adds flavor to any meal. This is where Chasity's dream of offering healthier products and a healthier lifestyle were born. As many people are trying to live healthier lifestyles by buying fresh produce, becoming vegans, and cooking at home, Emblem Olive Oil now offers them healthy and delicious olive oil options too.
