Navy and Marine Corps Must Integrate in the Information Warfare Domain

Capt Alainia Moomau, an instructor at EWTGLANT, was recently featured in Proceedings. She is the first US Marine to graduate from the Naval Information Warfighting Development Center (NIWDC) Warfare Tactics Instructor (WTI) program, and a testament to the naval integration efforts that have been espoused by the CNO and CMC. We are all proud of her recent and trailblazing accomplishments!

If properly combined, Navy and Marine Corps’ integrated knowledge and capabilities could be much greater than the sum of their parts.

Mr. Joseph A. Thompson instructs students in the newly established Instructor Development Program (IDP) at EWTGLANT. The Instructor Development Program (IDP) is the foundation of certifying/branding quality instructors at EWTGLANT. This is the launch point from which instructors will incorporate new and innovative teaching methods that focus on student-centered learning versus industrial-age lectures. Instructors that complete a successful tour at EWTGLANT will have the most current/relevant teaching strategies that relate to USN/USMC amphibious concepts making them force multipliers to future operational commands.

CNO Message to the Fleet on Sustaining Readiness

From the CNO:
Shipmates, as we head into a well-deserved holiday weekend celebrating our nation’s independence, I want to convey how proud I am of our collective resilience and grit during this challenging time, and stress the importance of remaining vigilant in our long-term battle against COVID-19.

Please take the time to read NAVADMIN 185/20 on the importance of sustaining the U.S. Navy’s hard-earned readiness – it starts with each of us.

Warrior in the Spotlight:

We are excited to shine the light on ET1 James Morrison. As the Command’s only Electronics Technician, he bears the weight of ensuring that the yearly average of 15,000 personnel who come to EWTGLANT for courses, conferences, meetings, and space utilization are able to execute their events flawlessly. He personally carried out the audio, visual, and technology overhaul to eight classrooms during a multi-million multi-month overhaul of our secure wing …he is the reason we opened on time and were ready to support the Operational Forces knocking on our door! Bravo Zulu!

This week EWTGLANT bid farewell to a warrior as he transitions from shore back to sea. Master Guns Donny Erickson tour as the Chief Instructor and Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commanding Officer was marked by extreme professionalism and absolute devotion to the instructor cadre and all the Sailors and Marines who walk the EWTGLANT corridors. He will be missed, but we take solace in knowing that the afloat Navy-Marine Corps team just added more depth to the warfighting bench!
