Spouse READI (Resilience Education and Deployment Information) The long-term objective of this study is to develop the protocol and materials for Spouse READI groups that can be disseminated across the Department of Defense (DoD) and Veterans Health Administration (VHA).The study will enroll 225 Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom (OEF/OIF) spouses. Participants will be randomly placed in one of three groups. This study will implement telephone groups for spouses with service members who have returned from Iraq or Afghanistan. Spouses will receive payment of $25 for answering a series of questions during 3 interviews asking about themselves and the reintegration process, they will receive another $25 payment at the end if they decide to stay for the entire year in the program. This study will stop recruiting for candidates this August.

Spouse Deployed

The study will enroll 160 spouses/significant others of Service Members who are deployed overseas. Participants will be randomly placed in one of two groups. Spouses will receive $25 payments for answering a series of questions during 3 interviews asking about themselves and the reintegration process, and an additional payment at the end of the study for a total of $100 if they complete the entire year long program. This program will be recruiting for the next 12 months since it just started.

High school students are encouraged to attend with their parents.

“Funding a College Education” is provided as one of the EOC’s free services to help students and/or parents understand more about financial aid procedures, free FAFSA application processing services, and how to begin & survive the scholarship search.

Local scholarship representatives will be on hand to provide info on their awards, and they always plan to stay after for your specific questions on their program.
