Yesterday Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek held a Base Cleen-up and beautification day. We were out strong tearing up and replacing broken, damaged borders for the trees and bushes. We did not stop there; the parking lot got some much-needed TLC as well as new mulch was added to the trees and bushes. It was a nice change to our Friday routine. JEBLC CO and XO stopped by to see our progress, the XO even joined us for our wrap up photo.

Strengthening Ties with Our Allies

Along with mastering the ability to quickly build up the Marine Corps combat power ashore, the warriors of Assault Craft Unit FOUR who operate the Navy's East Coast hovercraft fleet (Landing Craft, Air Cushion - LCAC), also support one of the Navy's strategic objectives of strengthening ties with our foreign allies. Some of you may have noticed a large square rigger floating in the Chesapeake Bay last week. It was the Peruvian tall ship BAP Union, a Peruvian Navy ambassador and training ship. The Peruvian Navy requested an LCAC "fly-by" after they recently toured ACU4's facilities.
