🌟Meet the artists who will perform at the next free VBGIGs event, Songs of Home & Belonging, at 7:30 p.m. on June 5 in The Zeiders American Dream Theater!🎶

Matt Baker
Matt Baker and the Trio features two of New York’s finest young rising stars, double bassist Endea Owens and drummer Darrian Douglas. The Trio presents music from Baker’s new album “Almost Blue” - a “fully realized love letter to the place he longed to be a part of, a place he now calls home”, each song echoing a part of the album’s haunting narrative. The trio is constantly adding new repertoire from the Jazz and Great American songbooks to their library. Hard swinging piano and warm vocals – all presented in a program of classic jazz with an exciting contemporary edge.

Veronica Swift
Veronica Swift’s new eponymously titled album, her third for Mack Avenue Records, is a masterful coming-out story. On her previous albums, Confessions (2019) and This Bitter Earth (2021), she ascended to the upper echelon of early 21st century jazz singers because of her virtuosic brilliance, interpretive ingenuity, bracing songwriting, and keen arrangements. Simply put, Swift is not only one of the most dazzling singers to emerge in her generation, she’s one of the most versatile.

Get free tickets to VBGIGs: Songs of Home & Belonging at https://culture.virginiabeach.gov/1430/2154. This event is presented as part of the 2026 Vocal Jazz Summit.

Rehearsals are heating up and The Bomb-itty of Errors is almost ready to hit ViBe Park. 🔥

The cast and creatives have been hard at work building a show full of rhythm, wordplay, mistaken identities, and nonstop energy. A little Shakespeare, a little hip-hop, and a whole lot of chaos in the best way.

Come see what they’ve been cooking.
