Hampton Roads Chapter, Military Officers Association of America The Hampton Roads Chapter was chartered in April, 1959. The chapter is one of 18 Virginia chapters and is a member of the Virginia Council of Chapters.

MOAA is a nonprofit veteran's association dedicated to maintaining a strong national defense and to preserving the earned entitlements of members of the uniformed services and their families and survivors. It encompasses the area of Virginia Beach, Norfolk and part of Chesapeake. The chapter supports legislation designed to strengthen our national defense or benefit our uniformed services both on

a National and State level. The chapter meets monthly or bimonthly with members, auxillary members and spouses in attendance. Our chapter supports local activities such as the annual presentation of the MOAA Military Leadership Award, certificate and medal to the outstanding ROTC and JROTC students in local high schools and colleges. In addition the chapter presents the first set of Gold Bars to newly commissioned officers of the ROTC program in 3 local Colleges.
