#DYK that on the Naval History and Heritage Command website there is a devoted section to the Seabee 75th anniversary? Here's a poster featuring historical imagery of an Underwater Construction Team diver. In the mid 1960s, renewed interest in ocean engineering and underwater construction revived the need for specially trained and experienced construction divers. Just in case you are counting down to the anniversary, there is only 23 days until the 75th anniversary of the Seabees on March 5, 2017. Thanks again to all of the Underwater Construction Team divers, past and present Seabees for their Can-Do service. #SeabeesCanDo #Seabee75

In honor of the 75th anniversary of the Fighting Seabees in March of this year, here's a video courtesy of Joint Region Marianas about the history of the Seabees stationed in Guam. In honor of the long legacy of our Naval Construction Forces operating in Guam and in the Pacific, here's a message by then Adm. Ernest J. King, Commander in Chief, U.S. Fleet on May 9, 1944. "In the Pacific," the Admiral said, "where distances are great the expeditious construction of bases is frequently of vital importance, the construction accomplished by the Seabees has been of invaluable assistance." If you are a Seabee or know one, you have likely heard this old adage: "With skillful hands and helpful hearts, the difficult we do at once, and the impossible may take a little longer." Thanks to the U.S. Navy Seabees for tackling the hard jobs for the past 75 years. This March, Seabees around the world, past and present, will mark their 75th anniversary.
