🚑 🌊 Most people take the weekend off to relax, yet our team relaxes in a different way and is out there helping those who need it the most.

This past weekend our team, Ocean Park Volunteer Rescue Squad, and Virginia Beach Emergency Communications & Citizen Services hosted a valuable training aimed not only at fostering inter-agency operations but to help strengthen responses and coordination to water rescues. 💪 😎

🏖️ Not every rescue squad is by the ocean, but that doesn’t mean they’ll never face a water related rescue. 🛟

‼️The importance of the training was to help improve members coordination of water rescues, drowning response, and beach/cart operations. This training was not only important for those unfamiliar with water rescues, but for those familiar with them, allowing them to strengthen their skills and teamwork. 👏

On this training we had members present from Ocean Park, Davis Corner Volunteer Rescue Squad, Sandbridge Volunteer Rescue Squad, Virginia Beach Emergency Communicates & Citizens Services, and Career Virginia Beach EMS personnel. 🚑 ☎️ 🛥️

👀 🛥️ Check out what some of our crews got up recently with Coast Guard Station Little Creek!

They were able to engage in some small boat training with our Coast Guard partners and harness their skills on boat handling, coordination and team work! 💪

We’re thankful for them as well as anytime we get to train and practice with them to strengthen our skills and teamwork! 🌊 🛟
