COMPTUEX:
The Checkmates worked extremely hard after this more recent boat detachment. Some of those included AO3 Insley, who worked tirelessly in the hangar bay sealing and prepping the aircraft for paint. AM3 Naranjo inspecting and cleaning panels during an aircraft special inspection. AM3 Hawk and AM3 Naranjo inspecting aircraft jacks for integrity prior to an aircraft jack job. AE2 Humphrey troubleshooting aircraft electrical discrepancies. AMEAN Velez inside the belly panel searching for corrosion. Thanks to the efforts of all the Checkmates we were able to successfully complete COMPTUEX and complete all of our training requirements.

VFA-211 Checkmates FCPOA River Raft Trip.

Fighting First’s! After a demanding and hectic work up cycle. The FCPOA takes a much overdue relaxing trip down the river. Now you may ask how does the fight first relax? Well with an exhilarating trip down a fast flowing river. As you can see the river was extremely fierce. Nothing the fighting first couldn’t handle. After the extremes of the work up cycle, these first have been battle tested. Needless to say, everyone came home safe and sound. Ready to put air wing Fallon in the book of achievements.

The Fighting Checkmates celebrate the
completion of a stellar sea tour AM2 (AW/SW)
Jacquelyn Brown. She exemplified professional
achievement in the superior performance of
her duties while serving as a work center
supervisor and a collateral duty inspector for
the airframes branch. Her tremendous efforts
from March 2016 to January 2021 enabled the
squadron to execute thousands of
maintenance actions and inspections and
solidified her as a vital asset to this
organization during this tour she was awarded
Plane Captain of the Year, Blue Jacket of the
Quarter, and lastly, the Navy and Marine
Corps Achievement Medal. We wish her the
best of luck moving forward. NIKEL UP!
