Brooks with the aid of Sergeant Major David M. Elliott. This achievement identified her among a distinguished group of approximately the top .1% of Marine Corps Staff Sergeants. This promotion recognizes GySgt Backes' exceptional performance and dedication. Her selection as the 2024 SNCO Marine Musician of the Year and her selection to represent Marine Corps Intelligence School in Training Command’s 2025 Fittest Instructor Competition highlight her outstanding capabilities and commitment, setting her apart from her peers.

He is awarded the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious conduct in the performance of outstanding service as the Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Intelligence Schools.

Colonel Duane A. Durant, the outgoing Commanding Officer of Marine Corps Intelligence Schools relinquished command to Colonel Allan S. Chiu on June 27, 2025.

The Change of Command ceremony signifies the transition to new leadership and a continuation of the unit’s constant mission of producing the most lethal and proficient Marines.
