that the AIM-2 Marketplace is only the second step in the officer assignment process and that there is no such thing as 1-for-1 match? Instead the Army Talent Alignment Algorithm creates a Market Match between officers and units based on individual and unit preferences.

career managers play an important role in this tool. They are now Clearing the Market which means reviewing and adjusting the results of the marketplace algorithm based on many factors including:
- Officer requests (retirement, resignation, stabilization, etc.)
- Family programs (Exceptional Family Member Program, etc.)
- Army Manning Guidance and unit requirements
- Promotion results and broadening opportunities

Based on past market results, most officers will receive a Top-5 assignment choice and should expect a request for orders (RFO) to hit their AIM-2 inbox early next year.

Soldiers from HHD conducted a combined FTX this week; Operation Steel-Head Forge in conjunction with 368 SOC and 119 ICTC. The METL focus was Area Defense. SM defended their assigned area against a determined OPFOR.
