🔥🌲 Calling all Storey County residents! 🌲🔥
📣 We need your valuable input! 📣
The 2026 Storey County Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP) is nearing completion, and we're excited to announce the upcoming public review period, which will start on June 1, 2026, and end on June 15, 2026. We want YOUR help to make this plan a success for our community!
Your feedback is crucial in developing a plan that enhances Storey County’s resilience and safeguards our communities from wildfires. Please review the CWPP and share your thoughts for this collaborative effort.
The draft CWPP will be available for review and comment starting on June 1, 2026. To access the plan and participate in the review process, interested parties can visit https://cwpp-storey.hub.arcgis.com.
Additionally, the review period will be bolstered by a public webinar. 🔥 Training Never Stops 🔥

Our district is proud to have sent four of our own—Captain Matt Dixon, Captain Jeffrey Hintz, Captain Dante Licata, and Firefighter/AEMT Mike LeLand—to the FDIC International to continue building their skills and knowledge.

In the fire service, training isn’t just something we do—it’s who we are. Every class taken, every skill sharpened, and every lesson learned directly impacts how we serve and protect our community. Conferences like FDIC give our crews the opportunity to learn from some of the best in the industry and bring that knowledge back home.

We’re proud of their commitment to growth, professionalism, and keeping our district at the top of its game. 👨‍🚒💪

Because when it comes to your safety—good enough is never enough.

Our Storey County Fire family dropped in to show some love for our Dispatchers for National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. We humbly recognize they truly are the First Responders answering calls and starting the process to create calm out of chaos. We were able to present them with a small token of support. Besides, who doesn’t appreciate coffee and chocolate.
