🍉☀️Goodbye Summer☀️🍉

Here it is! Our final hurrah of the summer! We have had so much fun hanging out, crafting, swimming and making memories, we are sad to see it go. Here is a peek into our last week of summer program. Thank you to all that came out for our End of Summer Ice Cream Social and for trusting us with your kiddos all summer 🤪 We are so lucky to have such a great group of kids and families! We hope you continue to follow us along for our School Year shenanigans!

Perfect for the whole family!

Here is our week in review!

This week we channeled our inner Mad Scientists and made our own ice cream, designed our very own homemade bouncy balls, constructed towers with toothpicks and marshmallows and made our own fizzy craters on the moon! We also did some team building games at the park, like hula hoop caterpillar races and beach ball relays! What a week 😮‍💨

Our SOARS were busy too! Ms. Megan took them on a fantastic field trip to the Sutro Tunnel where they learned all about mining during the “boom”. They also created several unique items throughout the week that they then sold at their weekly Farmers Market on Thursday!

We have been so busy we hardly realized there are only 3 more weeks left of Summer Program!! ☀️

Our week in review!

This week our younger kids had their first cooking class with Ms. Kirsten! They enjoyed making their very own personal mini pizzas. From gathering ingredients and assembling them to watching them bake and eating them! They all had a fantastic time.

We spent the rest of the week leaning into our Pirates & Treasure week by designing our own pirate treasure maps, creating a swashbuckling clothespin crew, designing their own Pirate Telescopes and assembling their very own rocking pirate ships!

They also enjoyed pirate themed PE activities like Island Ball, Sharks and Minnows & Sharks and Lifeguards with the parachute! What a fun filled busy week!

What a week!!

Our favorite time of year has finally arrived and the pool has opened! We enjoyed our afternoons poolside, we prepared for the 4th of July by creating our own patriotic pins and we spent some time up with our friends in the library playing bingo and doing crafts! We rounded out Animal Kingdom week with making our own snakes, crafting jumping frogs and painting safari settings!

It’s been quite an enjoyable summer so far! Hope you all have a safe wonderful holiday weekend 🇺🇸

Here we are! Already at week 4! Our S.O.A.R.S. have been busy with their walking field trip to the 4th ward school, making pizza and their weekly farmers market!

The littles had fun exploring space this week, creating our own galaxy sensory bottles, designing their own alien space crafts and imagining what 3 eyed aliens would look like! 🚀

Community Chest, Inc. is grateful for the recent donation of $10k from NV Energy and the NV Energy Foundation that will help to fund its Classroom on Wheels (COW) Bus program in 2026-2027. The COW Bus provides mobile pre-k classrooms to rurally-distant communities in Storey, Lyon, Mineral, and Nye counties in Nevada for 100+ children annually.
