Thompson-Hickman Madison County Library

Thompson-Hickman Madison County Library The Thompson-Hickman Madison County Library has books, DVDs, and audio books for check-out. It also has 6 internet-ready computers and free Wi-Fi.

Check out our weekly Children's Story & Craft Times and Summer Reading Program! The Thompson-Hickman Memorial Building was built in 1918 in Virginia City, Montana and gifted to the County of Madison in 1923. It has operated as the County Library ever since and is also the home of the Dick Pace Archives. In 2015 we completed an addition project which afforded us much-needed space. Along with the ol

d space, which is now the renovated Thompson-Hickman Reading Room, we have a dedicated children's area, climate-controlled archives, and community room. We have a large collection of fiction (best sellers & most popular), non-fiction, children and Montana history books as well as a large magazine, audio book, and DVD collection. Come check out our new releases in books and DVDs! Interested in family or local history? Visit our archives or let us know what you are interested in and we well let you know what we can find! We also have two children's AWE computers and six adult computers with internet access. You can also bring your own laptop and use our Wi-Fi. We have a fax machine, copy machine, and scanner available to the public as well. In keeping up with the newest technology, we also offer access to MontanaLibrary2Go, a digital library, where you can download digital audio books or eBooks to your portable device. We even have eReaders and iPads that can be checked out! In March 2017 we were selected as the Montana Library Association's Library of the Year. The Thompson-Hickman Library truly is "a great place to hang!"
