Firefighter/Paramedic Olivanti is seen here instructing probationary Firefighter/EMT Hietala on the setup procedure for using Ladder 1’s 105’ aerial. Ladder 1 is a versatile piece of the VFD’s equipment in that it is a “Quint.” Meaning it serves as a dual purpose engine and ladder truck. “Quint” refers to the five functions that it provides: pump, water tank, fire hose, aerial device, and ground ladders. This piece of equipment is essential in maintaining our ISO 3 rating as a fire department, which is only maintained by the top 10% of fire departments in the country. We continue to be grateful to our citizens in allowing us the opportunity to continue to operate at a level we can be proud of.
