We’re excited partner with Cass a county Animal Rescue and provide a Rabies Vaccination Clinic to Cass County and the surrounding communities.

A huge thank you to Hometown Vet Clinic for stepping up and providing veterinary services for the day—we truly appreciate their support in helping keep our community’s pets safe and protected.

• Quick veterinary exam
• Rabies vaccination

🐶 Cass County Animal Control staff will also be on-site selling rabies tags, and answering any questions you might have, so you can make sure your pet is fully compliant with Illinois law.

🐾 Cass County Animal Control – Dogs & Puppies Available for Adoption 🐾

Our kennels are currently full and we have several wonderful dogs and puppies looking for loving homes. Each one has a unique personality and would make a great addition to the right family. If you’ve been thinking about adding a dog to your home, now is the perfect time to come meet them!

🐶 Pit Mix (Male)
House trained and crate trained. Great with kids, cats, and other dogs. He has basic manners and knows commands like sit, here, off, and leave it. He loves his chew toys and is always a happy-go-lucky boy!

🐶 Lab/Golden Female Mix
This sweet girl gives the biggest smiles and is a total love bug. Good with kids and other dogs (unknown with cats). She can be a little shy at first but quickly melts into your heart. Around 6–8 months old and ready to grow into a wonderful family dog.

🐶 Lab Mix (Male, 2–3 years old)
A big goofy boy best suited for an active home. House trained and good with other dogs (unknown with cats). He loves to run, play, and is super smart and eager to please.

🐶 Grey & White Pit Mix (Female)
The sweetest little girl you could meet. A true cuddle bug who loves people and shows no issues with other dogs.

🐶 Brindle Male Pit Mix
Outgoing and independent personality. Great with people and good with other dogs, but not good with cats.

🐶 Two Lab Mix Puppies (4–5 months old)
One black and one brown. Extremely sweet and lovable puppies that are great with people and other animals.

The owners have been located.

🚨Found Dogs – Help Us Locate the Owners 🚨

Tonight, our amazing Cass County Animal Control wardens rescued two German Shepherds that were running in traffic and narrowly avoiding being hit by passing vehicles on IL Rt. 125, just west of Clayton Road.

Thankfully, both dogs are now safe. 🐾

We are currently trying to locate their owners. If you or someone you know is missing two German Shepherds in this area, please contact Cass County Animal Control at 217-452-3763 as soon as possible.

🚨 PUBLIC HELP NEEDED – ANIMAL DUMPING INCIDENT 🚨

Cass County Animal Control is asking for the public’s help after three beautiful puppies were discovered abandoned in the country on Newmansville Road near Jim Edgar Panther Creek State Park.

When they were found, these puppies were covered in fleas, skinny, extremely hungry, and scared to death. Someone simply dumped them on a rural road and left them to fend for themselves.

Thankfully, they were found before something worse happened.

Dumping animals like this is not only heartless — it is a crime. Under Illinois law, animal abandonment and cruelty can be charged as a felony punishable by up to 1–3 years in prison.

We are asking the public for help. Did you see a vehicle stopped on or around Newmansville Road? Do you know who may have recently had puppies they no longer have?

Even the smallest tip could help us identify the person responsible.

• Two Great Pyrenees were found on Hickory Road.
• One Golden Retriever was found in Beardstown.
• One Lab mix was also found in Beardstown.
