Today, we lower the American flag to half-staff on Memorial Day to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. The flag stands as a symbol of gratitude, sacrifice, and respect for those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedoms. As we pause in remembrance, may we never forget the courage and dedication of our fallen heroes. 🇺🇸

🚑🇺🇸 EMS APPRECIATION WEEK 🇺🇸🚑

This week, we recognize and thank the incredible EMS providers and First Responders of the Viroqua Fire Department.

Day or night, rain or shine, these individuals answer the call when our community needs them most. They step into difficult moments with professionalism, compassion, courage, and a willingness to serve others before themselves.

Behind every pager tone is someone leaving dinner with their family, getting out of bed in the middle of the night, stepping away from work, or putting their own plans on hold to help a neighbor in need.

We are incredibly proud of the men and women who serve our community with dedication and heart.

Please join us in thanking all EMS personnel and First Responders for the sacrifices they make and the care they provide every single day.

The men and women of the Viroqua Fire Dept kindly wish to remind drivers to slow down and move over when being approached by an emergency vehicle with lights and sirens.
While there are no vehicles in this video there have been instances lately where trucks have been enroute to accidents with injuries or fires or medical calls and vehicles have not moved over.
Please do your part- If you see us with lights and sirens please do your best to slow down and move over whether you are meeting us or we are behind you. If you pull over others will follow.

Yes we know great moms raised firefighters and first responders, but the best moms became firefighters and first responders! They raise families, run households, work full time jobs, serve their communities and answer the call!
Whatever capacity of a mom you are we hope you have an amazing day and know how much you are appreciated!

- Monday's drill consisted of water... In more ways than one, thanks Mother Nature. We headed out to use our training grounds again. This time simulating a rural fire response and how we would set up and use tenders on a fire scene. We cut outside training a little short due to the weather and headed inside to get a refresher on hydrant information within the city and the difference between our two tenders.
The clouds and the rainbow were really just paid actors in this training 😏
