UPDATE: We just received a tip that the tarpaulin (tarp) found near the carcasses was first noticed yesterday, April 11th., at 12:00 PM.

April 12, 2026 - 5:00 PM: The Sheriff's Office is currently on the scene of an illegal dumping incident on US Highway 61 between Readstown and Soldiers Grove, WI at the border with Crawford County. IN MEMORY OF DAVID DREGNE...
It was an honor for us yesterday to meet with the David Dregne family and present them with two benches in memory of David. David was a Crime Stoppers board member since the start of our organization in 1987 until 2023. David passed away in June, 2025. David was a huge member of our organization because he always served well and had some wonderful ideas. We have greatly missed him on our board. We thank David's wife, Rosey, for allowing us to present these benches to her in memory of David. **The benches will be located at Kickapoo Realty & Insurance and Kickapoo Creekside.

Hey Westby friends! We need your help! Sometime over the night on Sunday night, someone dumped a bunch of household items on Quarry Rd just east of Westby near the Clockmaker Quarry. We want to give a special shout out to Jim Galstad and the Vernon County Fair -- Wisconsin for the purchase of two benches! We are very appreciative to the Vernon County Fair and the support they give to our program! Jim is on the fair board and played a big role in purchasing the benches and putting them in great locations on the fairgrounds. **Pictured in these photos are fairgrounds caretaker John Waters, Vernon County Fair board member Jim Galstad, and two of our Crimestoppers board representatives in the Viroqua area, Rich Davig and Geoff Banta.

We wish to thank the Great River Roadhouse for their donation to our program through their monthly "Pizza of the Month" program! What a great program that is and we thank each and every one of you who stopped to have pizza during the month of August! Thank you, Josh Petzel, and your business for supporting our program! We also want to thank our board member Ken Meyer, who serves as our DeSoto representative, for his help in coordinating this with the Roadhouse. We are very grateful!

Here we go again! The Viola Sportsmans Club purchased another bench from us and as always, we are so thankful for their support of our program and mission. We are very grateful to the club and we are so thankful for being a good partner to us by getting our word out there. We are all about supporting our local law enforcement team in making our communities a safer place. Thank you, Viola Sportsman's Club!
