HAPPENING NOW: Investigation Underway After Man Shot in Visalia

Just after 10 p.m., Visalia police responded to a shooting in the 3300 block of West Laurel Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

A 22-year-old man was detained at the scene.

The Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded and has taken over the investigation.

Some people leave fingerprints.

Some people leave DNA.

Some people apparently leave with the paint still on their hands.

Just after 10 p.m., officers responded to a vandalism call near Houston and Santa Fe and found fresh gang graffiti on multiple properties.

Nearby was a paint can.

Nearby was a suspect.

And on the suspect’s hands?

Let’s just say the evidence wasn’t exactly hiding.

The suspect, who was already on parole for robbery, was arrested for vandalism and a parole violation.

Thursday Tip:
If the evidence is more committed to you than your last relationship, jail is probably in your future.

VPD Narcotics Unit Seizes Drugs in Goshen Probation Search

This afternoon, the Visalia Police Department Narcotics Unit conducted a probation search in the 7500 block of Florence Avenue in Goshen. During the search, officers located and seized over half a pound of methamphetamine, along with items consistent with drug sales.

40-year-old Dustin Lindstrom was taken into custody and booked on narcotics-related charges.

Visalia PD Tows 2 Electric Motorcycles During Safety Enforcement Operation

The Visalia Police Department towed two electric motorcycles and issued multiple citations during a recent bicycle and pedestrian safety operation focused on improving roadway safety.

Unsafe riding continues to be a concern, including riders running stop signs and traffic signals, speeding through neighborhoods, riding without helmets, and modifying e-bikes to exceed legal speed limits.

Under California law, riders under 18 must wear a helmet while operating a Class 1 or Class 2 e-bike, and all Class 3 riders are required to wear a helmet regardless of age.

Electric motorcycles and mopeds are motor vehicles and must comply with licensing, registration, and insurance requirements. Devices without pedals are not considered e-bikes.

Parents are encouraged to verify the type of device their child is riding and ensure all safety and legal requirements are being followed. Our goal is education, enforcement, and safety while helping prevent crashes, injuries, and the illegal operation of motor vehicles.

This operation was funded through a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety via the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Once again proving that between Visalia Stringer, the group chat and that one person who somehow recognizes everybody from a blurry screenshot, absolutely nobody stays anonymous for long.

WANTED WEDNESDAY, BABY 🚨

The most concerning part of this story?

Not the theft.
The phone call.

Because somewhere out there, this man called a friend and said, “Hey bro, come help me load a bunch of stuff into an SUV.”And that friend showed up with no questions asked.

A couple of weeks ago, this gentleman filled a shopping cart in Walmart’s hardware department on Mooney Blvd, made a phone call, exited through the emergency door, loaded everything into a gray Chevy SUV, and left without paying.

That’s not shoplifting.

That’s teamwork.

That’s the kind of friendship people spend their whole lives searching for.

You call. They show up.

No questions.
No details.
No concerns about facing jail time.

Meanwhile, some of y’all can’t even get a text back from the person you’ve been emotionally supporting for three years.

This friend arrived faster than a tóxica who just noticed a girl’s name in your likes.

HAPPENING OVERNIGHT: Visalia Police Investigating Fight That Left Man Critically Injured

At approximately 10:08 p.m., Visalia Police officers responded to a report of a fight in progress at the Neighborhood Walmart near Demaree Street and Houston Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they found an unconscious man suffering from a serious head injury.

He was transported by ambulance to Kaweah Health, where he remains in critical condition.

The Visalia Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit responded to the scene and has taken over the investigation.
