We were honored to recognize The Source LGBT+ Center for an incredible milestone, 10 years of dedicated service to our community.

On behalf of the Visalia City Council, Council Member Emmanuel Hernandez Soto attended The Source’s Rainbow Mixer to present a recognition celebrating a decade of advocacy, support, community-building, and creating spaces where residents feel seen valued and connected.

Thank you for all the work you all do each and every day to uplift and support our community.

Beginning Thursday, June 18, intersection improvements will take place at Akers Street and Tulare Avenue.

🛑 Tulare Avenue will be closed to through traffic at the intersection during construction.
✅ Northbound and southbound traffic on Akers Street will remain open.

📅 Construction Schedule:
• June 18–19: Phase 1 – Center portion of intersection
• June 22–23: Phase 2 – West side of intersection
• June 24–25: Phase 3 – East side of intersection

⏰ Work Hours:
Monday–Friday | 7 a.m.–4 p.m.

Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible, drive with caution, and follow all posted traffic control signage. Traffic control measures will remain in place overnight as work progresses.

Tossing a tank in the trash is a serious fire hazard.

✔️ Take your old or empty tank to the place where you bought it, most refill/exchange locations will accept them, even without a new purchase.
✔️ Bring it to our next Dump on Us event, and we’ll dispose of it safely, free of charge.

🚫 NEVER place propane tanks in your trash or recycling bin.
