Today, on Peace Officers Memorial Day, we remember those who gave their lives in service to their communities.

Last week, Tulare County Probation joined the Tulare County Sheriff's Office and fellow agencies at the annual Peace Officer Memorial Ceremony. Surrounded by families, coworkers, and community members, we stood in quiet reflection to honor those who never came home.

This remembrance falls during National Police Week, when agencies across the country pause to honor fallen officers. Their courage, dedication, and sacrifice will not be forgotten. We stand with the families, friends, and fellow officers who carry their memory forward.

Mental wellness is an important part of serving others effectively. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re recognizing the value of support, connection, and balance in the workplace.

At Tulare County Probation, our Peer Support Team provides a confidential resource for both sworn and non-sworn staff — because a strong team looks out for one another.

We’re proud to create a workplace where support is available, conversations are encouraged, and every member of our department matters.

This past week, Tulare County Probation was proud to help bring Care Pregnancy Center’s inaugural Mom’s Academy to life at our Connections Center through a shared effort focused on supporting local moms and families.

The event welcomed 45 registered moms and their children, bringing together families connected to probation services and families from the broader community. Guests enjoyed brunch, workshops, giveaways, and helpful resources, including diapers, car seats, gift bags, children’s books, makeup, interview clothing, and tips for preparing healthy meals on a budget.

More than anything, Mom’s Academy was a chance to remind mothers that they are seen, valued, and supported. We are grateful to have played a role in bringing this vision to fruition and thankful for the community partners who helped make the inaugural event a success.

To all moms and mother figures across Tulare County: thank you for all you do. You are appreciated today and every day. Happy Mother’s Day!
