Tulare County Economic Development Official page of the Tulare County Economic Development Office

To promote economic development effectively, the Board of Supervisors adopted a Strategic Business Plan in 2006 emphasizing a strategic initiative designed to enhance the economic well-being of Tulare County's residents by providing, among other things, "a business-friendly" and "can-do work ethic." This economic development initiative is being implemented extensively by the County Administrative

Office in conjunction with the Resource Management Agency. In addition to substantial packing and shipping operations, agriculturally-related facilities are increasing in number and are becoming an important economic factor in the County's total economic picture. The Tulare County Economic Development Response Team stands ready to assist decision-makers who seek to locate, establish or expand businesses in our area with site selection, rapid development permitting, and custom-tailored workforce development solutions. Additionally, Tulare County is within an Enterprise Zone (EZ) which offers a number of economically-favorable incentives such as:
• 21-Day permit fast-tracking
• 5-year, no interest, development fee deferral
• State tax credits for hiring
• State tax credits for purchasing qualified equipment
• Accelerated expense deductions
• Net interest deduction
• Preference points on state contracts

Big things are happening in Tulare County. Today, the City of Tulare welcomed Tulare County’s first Chic-Fil-A to 2977 Market Drive off of Cartmill and State Route 99.

What this means for our community is yet another fresh dining experience, and 140 new jobs to go along with all the foodie memories that will be created right here at home. The launch of Chic-Fil-A in our region will include a second location set to begin construction in Visalia soon.

The establishment is family-owned by the McKinnon family, who are now proud Tulare residents. The doors open to the public on May 7. Read more: https://thesungazette.com/article/news/2026/05/01/chick-fil-a-ready-to-moove-in-to-tulare/

We thank the Office of Congressman Jim Costa for highlighting our very own Economic Development Manager, Alida Verduzco Silva. 🎉 🌟 We’re Celebrating Local Women in Agriculture! 🌟 🎉

We’re proud to see Tulare County farming talent highlighted on the global stage! As part of the United Nations' International Year of the Woman Farmer, two Central Valley businesses are being recognized by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) for their leadership and impact in agriculture, including one right here in our community.

🍊 Tulare County’s The Sisters Market, located in The City of Exeter and run by local women who grew up on a fourth-generation family citrus farm, is featured for bringing fresh, curated citrus and produce boxes from our region to customers across the country. A nearby Fresno County business, Balakian Farms, was also featured.
These stories highlight heritage, innovation, and the powerful role women play in feeding the world.

Congratulations on the feature, The Sisters Market! 🙌

The community of Three Rivers now has a pharmacy again! Main Fork Pharmacy held their grand opening today, December 11, and they are welcoming new patients to fill their prescriptions close to home or as they visit the County of Tulare’s majestic Sequoias region. Only minutes from the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, the Main Fork Pharmacy team is here to help.

Special thanks to Supervisor Eddie Valero, District 4 Supervisor, and Kyle Savage, Field Representative for Senator Shannon Grove, for helping us celebrate this Central California healthcare accomplishment.
