UPDATE (1:16 PM) Floodgates at all dams along the Highland Lakes are now closed. Water continues to flow over the spillway at Inks Dam, which does not have any floodgates. LCRA expects to conclude flood operations at the dams today (7/16).

UPDATE (Wednesday, 7:53 AM): We expect to close all floodgates today. Current status:
- All floodgates at Buchanan Dam are closed.
- One floodgate remains partially open at Wirtz and Starcke dams.
- Water continues to flow over the spillway at Inks Dam, which does not have any floodgates.

UPDATE (1:46 PM) LCRA plans to open two floodgates at Buchanan Dam early this afternoon to release storm runoff flowing into the lake from the San Saba River and mainstem of the Colorado River. Up to two additional floodgates will be opened later in the afternoon.

LCRA plans to open a floodgate at Wirtz Dam and at Starcke Dam this morning (Sunday, July 13) to release storm runoff flowing into Lake LBJ from the Llano River. More info: hydromet.lcra.org/floodstatus

Heavy rains overnight have caused the Llano River and is tributaries to rise. The runoff will be moved from Lake LBJ downstream into Lake Marble Falls, then downstream into Lake Travis.

Flows below the dams will be fast and water levels will be higher than usual. Take action to protect people and property that may be affected.
