Mark your calendars!

The Wabash River Defenders are hosting their annual Clean Out the Banks event on July, 25th. This is the last Saturday in July.
Sign-in at Paradise Springs Park at 7AM for the event picture and complimentary breakfast before all the groups take off for their stretch of the river clean up. ๐Ÿšฃโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ›ถ๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

WCSWMD will have a team comprised of some of our staff and friends; you are more than welcome to join us! :)
Even if you don't know anyone else there, you'll have a couple friendly faces in our staff members. Let us know you want to be on our team so we can plan transportation to our stretch of the clean up.

If getting in the river with us:
- Wear tight fitting shoes with laces, or water shoes
- Personal protective gear recommended (life vest, gloves, etc.)
- Snacks and beverages can be placed in the boat
*We bring a first aid kit, and a long boat to haul the bags of refuse.

Prefer to stay on the banks and be more independent?
- Long pants recommended
- Sun protection
- Bug repellent recommended (ticks have been awful this year!)
- Charged phone in case of large discovery or emergency.

Not your cup of tea? You can still recycle!
A member of staff will be here at WCSWMD from 8am-12pm to allow the Residential Recycling Drop Site to be open! โ™ป๏ธ

If youโ€™re tired of spending a fortune at the garden center every single spring, native perennials are the ultimate cheat code. These 9 powerhouse wildflowers come back year after year, handle local weather like absolute champs, and turn your yard into a total VIP lounge for butterflies and hummingbirds.

The best part? They require almost zero maintenance once established.

๐Ÿ‘‡ Which one of these is your absolute favorite? Let me know in the comments!
