🚨 Let me introduce JCAP Class #3! 🚨

A new group is stepping up, putting in the work, and choosing growth, accountability, and recovery. Each person comes with their own story, challenges, and goals, but they all share one thing in common...the willingness to make a change and build a better future.

This journey won't always be easy, but nothing worth having ever is. We are excited to walk alongside them, support them, and watch them discover just how capable they truly are.

JCAP Class #3... your time starts now 💪

Today the men and women of JCAP had the opportunity to meet with Tyson Priest, who works alongside Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith.
Tyson took the time to sit down with our participants, listen to their stories, and hear first hand how JCAP has impacted their lives. The conversations were powerful, honest, and filled with hope. From overcoming addiction and trauma to rebuilding relationships and learning life skills, our participants shared what recovery and second chances truly look like.
Programs like JCAP are changing lives every single day, and it means so much when leaders and community partners take the time to see the work being done inside these walls. Thank you, Tyson for coming in, listening, encouraging, and supporting the mission behind this program.
Recovery is possible. Change is possible. And today was another reminder of why this work matters. 💙

I want to give a huge thank you to these amazing employers for coming into JCAP and conducting mock interviews with our males and females:

⭐ Gebhart Holdings – Kristi Thomas
⭐ Bulldog Battery – James Brown
⭐ Wabash Castings – Amy Yoder
⭐ West Plains Mining – Raina Miller
⭐️ WorkOne – April Graves DeVore for organizing everything and being apart of this program.

Your willingness to show up, pour into our participants, and help them build confidence and real-world skills means more than words can express. You gave them a chance to practice, to grow, and to believe in themselves a little more—and that matters.
Even more incredible—All of our participants were offered positions as a result of these interviews. That kind of opportunity can truly change a life.
We are beyond grateful for your support and for investing in the future of these individuals and our community.

Today looked a little different for JCAP, and that’s a good thing.
Both the men’s and women’s groups got out into the community and spent time at the animal shelter, filling Kong toys, stacking canned foods, and most importantly, playing with and loving on the animals.
What stood out the most wasn’t just what they did, but how they did it. The patience, the kindness, the genuine care you can see the shift happening. Giving back hits different when you’ve walked through some things, and today was a reminder that growth is real.
Proud of every single one of them for showing up and being part of something bigger than themselves. 🐾🐶

The women had a spa day, a reminder that self-care isn’t selfish, it’s necessary. Taking time to paint their nails, enjoy a face mask, and relax to soft music can be so refreshing for the mind and soul. Promotes mental and physical well-being
Many women struggle to build meaningful connections with other women, but moments like this create space for encouragement, understanding, and support. It’s so important that we lift each other up, fix one another’s crowns, and learn to respect and value each other. There is strength in sisterhood, and healing happens when women feel safe, supported, and seen.

This morning the women had a little hibiscus tea time. Just slowing down, waking up gently, and having real, healthy conversations. With how full our days can be, it felt good to pause… breathe… and just be present with each other.
It’s the simple moments that really matter. Time to relax, reflect, and truly connect. Sometimes all you need is a warm cup of tea and good conversation to reset your mind and refresh your spirit.

Recovery is about learning to feel good on the inside and the outside — and these individuals are putting in the work every single day. They have been fully committed to their growth through MRT, fitness, DBT, anger management, banking skills, Seeking Safety, job readiness, art therapy, empowerment, cooking, crafts, peer mentoring, NA, relationship recovery, individual therapy, and so much more.

The women are especially loving their yoga classes, learning how to slow down, breathe, and channel their inner emotions in healthy, empowering ways. Both groups are digging deep, identifying and understanding the roots of their addiction so they can truly heal from the inside out.

Growth isn’t always easy, but their dedication, courage, and willingness to change is inspiring to witness. Healing is happening. 💛

This evening, 6 of the J-CAP guys made the decision to be baptized. This wasn’t something suggested or expected of them; it was a choice they made completely on their own. That alone speaks volumes.
Baptism is a powerful and sacred step, and witnessing these men openly say they want this as part of their lives was incredibly moving. In a place where vulnerability isn’t easy and walls are often built for survival, they chose faith, humility, and courage.
Moments like this are a reminder that real transformation is happening. God is moving in their hearts in ways no program or words ever could. Witnessing these moments is a blessing 🙌🏻

These men have been showing up and putting in the work from day one. They’ve stayed committed and focused, really digging into their triggers and learning how to recognize those moments before things spiral. More importantly, they’re learning healthier ways to respond instead of reacting—and that kind of growth matters.
Our two mentors have fully stepped up, taking on the responsibility of helping lead the class, offering support, and setting the tone. They’re learning what it means to be leaders while walking alongside the others—encouraging, guiding, and holding space for growth.
Together, they also created a poster that represents their class moral values. As a group, they chose the eagle to represent them—standing for strength, vision, and rising above. It reflects exactly what they’re working toward: seeing things differently, moving with purpose, and not letting their past define where they’re headed.
Proud of the effort, the mindset, and the direction this group is taking
