Deep in the Flint Hills of Kansas, there is an unassuming little spot that offers fantastical views and true tranquility. Known as Shamrock Cafe, this quaint place has been bringing joy to four generations of Crenshaws, countless friends and visitors. Guests stop by to watch deer run past, enjoy a sunset, gather their thoughts, locate a geo cache spot, have a picnic, entertain a date or simply tak

e a load off. Anniversaries and birthdays have been celebrated here, and even the occasional marriage proposal. A guest book housed at Shamrock Cafe is a fun way to record the many reasons people stop by, the exotic places from which they travel and the scenes Mother Nature provided. The guest book chronicles witty remarks, candid observations, heartfelt thoughts and sometimes just a name and date. Maybe it is the serene lanscape, awesome views or simple privacy of the space, but time spent at Shamrock Cafe seems to have a confessional effect on many guests as illustrated in the simple book. It is our hope that whatever you happen to need--quiet peacefulness, a dose of beautiful views or a chance to catch your breath--you find it at Shamrock Cafe. Evergy's Buffalo Flats transmission line was never put out for competitive bid. Similar projects save 40% when they are.

Kansas ratepayers are on the hook for 16.5% of a $2.2 billion regional project. The line runs through Kansas counties — and delivers zero power to any of them. It's built to export energy to Missouri. Kansas ratepayers are footing the bill for a $484M project that delivers them nothing.

Evergy's own environmental biologist testified that the Flint Hills shouldn't be treated as a protected ecosystem. The KCC has until May 13 to decide if they agree.
