Es normal sentirse estresada durante el embarazo, ya que es un periodo en el que se producen muchos cambios. Aprenda a controlar o reducir el estrés con los siguientes consejos:

• Coma alimentos saludables, duerma lo suficiente y haga ejercicio (con la aprobación de su médico).
• Pida ayuda con las tareas domésticas. Acepte la ayuda cuando se la ofrezcan.
• Pruebe técnicas de relajación como el yoga, la meditación o los ejercicios de respiración.
• Tome clases de educación para el parto.
• Pida ayuda. ¡WIC puede brindarle recursos comunitarios para atender inquietudes específicas!

Tener un buen grupo de apoyo, que puede incluir a su pareja, a su familia y a sus amigos, puede ayudarla a reducir el estrés durante el embarazo.

Feeling stressed is common during pregnancy because pregnancy is a time of many changes. Learn how to manage or reduce stress with the tips below:

• Eat healthy foods, get plenty of sleep, and exercise (with your provider's approval).
• Ask for help with chores around the house. Accept help when offered.
• Try relaxation techniques like yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises.
• Take childbirth education classes.
• Reach out for help. WIC can provide community resources for specific concerns!

Having a strong support network, including your partner, family, and friends, can help you reduce stress during pregnancy.

Groceries: Central Texas Food Bank drive-through food pantry is every 4th Saturday of the month from 10 - 11 a.m. at 225 W Waco Dr (Waco-McLennan Public Health parking lot).

Groceries: Carver Park Baptist Church walk-through food pantry operates on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at 1020 Herring Ave.

Rent, Food, Toiletries, & Transportation for residents in 76705 & 76640: Tri-Cities Ministries is open every Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. at 1301 Hogan Ln.

Join Waco Area WIC for the 4th Annual Boo Bash Celebration! 🎉

Wear your costume, bring a bag for treats, and enjoy family-friendly Halloween fun on October 30, from 3-6 p.m., in the Health District parking lot (225 W Waco Drive). Our theme this year is "Toy Story," so come as your favorite toy from the movie. No scary costumes, please! (We have lots of little ones coming. So, none of Sid's toys.)

Se trata de un pinchazo en el talón para detectar más de 30 afecciones de salud graves, pero tratables. El cribado es una gran oportunidad para que los bebés tengan un comienzo saludable, ya que permite detectar problemas antes de que aparezcan los síntomas.

It’s a heel prick that checks for more than 30 serious but treatable health conditions. This screening gives babies the best chance at a healthy start by catching issues before symptoms even appear.
