Hello South Waco Families!

Friendly reminder that we will be closed on Friday, September 4 for a staff Professional Development Day and Monday, September 7 for Labor Day. We believe in continuous improvement, and we will be working hard to sharpen our skills and continue to provide the best learning environment for your scholar!

No holes/rips/tears in jeans, shorts, or skirts

Car drop off is single file - please help us keep everyone safe (and the line moving) by not having students cross in front of the cars in the line

Good evening Spartan families -
We are excited about the learning taking place in classrooms each day.
In order to make sure students are in class when instruction begins at 7:30, parents/guardians, please help us by getting your student here before 7:30.
Also, parents, please remember our dress code does not allow rips/tears/holes in jeans or shorts.

We can't wait to see everyone in the morning for Day 6!

Good evening Spartan Families!
Day 1 is in the books!
Thank you to all the parents who had your students here on time this morning, it was great to walk through the halls and see students learning at 7:31! This is going to be a great year.
A few things -

We had several questions regarding class lists and such - you should be able to see your student’s teacher(s) in Frontline, through the Parent Portal. We hope to have Parent Square for individual teachers fully operational by the end of the day Wednesday. We will send out any updates/join codes etc.

Thank you to each and every one of you for your patience today as we worked out a few bugs in our dismissal system. In order to make the process run smoother for you and your students we will implement the following tomorrow (Wednesday, August 05)
---During morning drop off students will receive a name tag, with their mode of transportation home.
---All students who are designated “walkers” will come through the gate with a staff member, and will walk down the sidewalk toward the bus entrance end of the parking lot. -Parents, PLEASE do not walk up to the gate. Meet your student(s) at the end of the sidewalk
---All students who are designated “parent pick up” will be walked to a car when called. Parents, PLEASE remain in your vehicles, do not walk up to the gate if your student is a “parent pick up”

Parents - IF you have time this evening or in the morning , please practice having your student respond to their name. The sooner students are able to do this independently the smoother dismissal will run. (But in the meantime, we’ll have the name tags)

BOOK JOY! Last week so many of our Spartans were nominated for a free book at the book fair. We also got to give out more free books from the book fair for summer reading yesterday. Our Spartans love to read, and they are going home with some excellent books! We even had a special guest encourage them to read over the summer!
