Big thanks to everyone who joined our Park Rangers for yesterday’s community cleanup at Circle Point in Cameron Park! Volunteers of all ages came out to lend a hand and help keep one of Waco’s favorite outdoor spaces clean and beautiful for visitors to enjoy.

Every visit to a Waco park is a chance to help care for these shared spaces. Whether you’re out on the trails, at a playground, or enjoying a picnic, remember to leave no trace and pack out what you bring in.

Join Park Rangers today at 6 p.m. at Circle Point for a community cleanup and help keep one of Waco’s favorite outdoor spaces looking its best for everyone who visits. Bring your friends, enjoy time outside and make a positive impact along the way.

Summer fun starts at the pool! Celebrate the start of the season at the Summer Splash Bash on Saturday, June 6 from noon to 3 p.m. at Doris Miller Community Pool. Enjoy indoor swimming, a cannonball contest, noodle limbo, outdoor games and more.

PLUS, the first 50 guests with paid swim admission will receive free pool swag, and all paid guests can enjoy a complimentary sweet treat of choice from Churros’ Time or Kona Ice.

Whether your child is new to football or already loves the game, this league offers youth ages 5-18 a fun way to stay active, build friendships and enjoy the excitement of game day.

MEMORIAL DAY — As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we also pause to honor and remember the brave service members who gave everything for our country.

City of Waco offices are closed today in observance of the holiday and will resume normal operations tomorrow. Cottonwood Creek Golf Course and Waco Mammoth National Monument remain open and ready to welcome you!

Rain may have dampened this week’s Park Cleanup, but another opportunity is already on the calendar!

Join Park Rangers for a community cleanup at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 28 at Circle Point in Cameron Park. Come help keep one of Waco’s favorite parks beautiful while enjoying time outdoors with fellow volunteers.

This is a come-and-go event, so stay however long your schedule allows. No registration required. Remember to bring water and wear closed-toe shoes (boots recommended).

Heads up!

In preparation for summer camps, community center programming will be adjusted at Dewey, Doris Miller and South Waco Community Centers May 26–29 as staff participate in training and preparation for the upcoming camps. While programming activities will be temporarily paused, community centers will remain open to the public during normal operating hours, with regular programming resuming each day at 5 p.m. Voting locations at the Dewey and South Waco Community Centers will remain accessible throughout the training period.

As a reminder, city offices are closed on Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

Don’t miss the final Night Hike of the season TONIGHT at the Lake Waco Wetlands (1752 Eichelberger Crossing Rd.)! Beginning at 7 p.m., Cameron Park Zoo staff will lead a guided evening adventure, where participants can experience the sights and sounds of nature after dark.

Congratulations to the graduating seniors of the Waco Youth Council, who were recognized during Tuesday’s City Council meeting for their dedication and service to the City of Waco! 👏

Please join us in celebrating:
Jacob Anderson, Hailey Hartline, William Lindsey, Madeleine Mack, Caleb Ortega, Alexis Quintana, Lilly Rose, Gisell Sanchez, Maximiliano Zepeda and August Zimmerman.

Through the WYC, these students helped represent the voices of local youth while building leadership skills, civic engagement and community connections along the way.
