🌟 Meet the Team: Donny Stanley & Kara Quinn πŸ’ƒπŸ•Ί

Today we're excited to introduce Donny Stanley and his professional dance partner, Kara Quinn!

Donny Stanley is a local businessman and owner of Phil’s Trailer Sales, Lounge 93, and Stanley Trailers. Donny has a deeply personal reason for stepping onto the dance floor. Before his late wife, Kelda, lost her battle with cancer, she encouraged him to step outside his comfort zone, embrace new experiences, and fully live the life they had built together. Taking on Dancing with the Waco Stars is one way he's honoring that wish while helping raise awareness and support for Family Abuse Center.

Kara Quinn is an instructor at Arthur Murray Dance Studios of Waco. Her favorite dance style is always "whatever she danced most recently," although she has a special love for rhythm and Latin dances.

Together, they're taking the stage to help provide safety, hope, and resources for individuals and families affected by domestic violence.

πŸ’œ Today we celebrate Women's Equality Day.

On August 26, 1920, the 19th Amendment became law, marking a pivotal moment in the fight for women's right to vote.

While there is still work to be done to ensure safety, equality, and opportunity for all, today is a chance to honor the women who paved the way and those who continue to create positive change in our communities.

Together, we continue moving forward.

πŸ’œ Your time and talents can make a difference.

There are so many ways to volunteer with Family Abuse Centerβ€”and not all of them look the same!

We’re looking for individuals and groups who are ready to roll up their sleeves and help with hands-on projects that make our spaces feel more welcoming and cared for.

Upcoming opportunities can include:
🎨 Painting and refreshing office spaces
🌿 Redesigning and beautifying our garden spaces
πŸͺ΄ Outdoor cleanup and landscaping projects
πŸ”¨ Helping with special improvement projects around our facilities

These projects may seem simple, but creating warm, peaceful, and welcoming spaces mattersβ€”especially for the survivors and families we serve.

Whether you’re an individual looking to give back, a company planning a service day, or a community group searching for a meaningful project, we would love to have you volunteer with us.

πŸ’œ Bring your time, your talents, and maybe a paintbrush or two. Together, we can make a difference.

πŸ’œ July Impact Report

Every number represents a survivor, a family, or a moment when support was there when it was needed.

Throughout July, our team continued providing shelter, meals, counseling, legal advocacy, housing support, and resources to survivors and families across our community.

None of this work happens alone. Thank you to our staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this impact possible every day. πŸ’œ
