Lake Air Montessori PDS Lake Air Montessori in Waco ISD Waco ISD established its first Montessori magnet school in 1994 at the Doris Miller campus.

In 1998, the campus relocated to our next home at 3005 Edna Avenue and changed names to Lake Waco Montessori. The growth and interest in Montessori education has continued to thrive ever since. The 2012-2013 academic year marked the first time the Lake Air Montessori campus opened its doors as Montessori programs were consolidated for Waco ISD. Our success and continued improvement is attributed t

On Tuesday, September 15, students and staff are encouraged to WEAR YOUR DOTS! Polka dots, colorful dots, big dots, little dots—the more creative, the better! 🔵🟡🟢

📚💚 Sometimes the sweetest moments are the simplest ones.

This student LOVES this book and has been asking Mrs. Foreman to read it to him during dismissal. And, of course, she made time to do just that. 🥹📖

These are the moments that make a school feel like more than a school—the little connections, the conversations, and the adults who take the time to make a child feel seen and special.

We LOVE seeing our Lake Air alumni already making their mark in high school!

These former Leopards took the field for their first freshman football game as University Trojans and brought home the WIN — 22–21 in Killeen! 🏆🙌

Watching our students move on from Lake Air and continue to grow, succeed, and represent their new school with pride is something special.

🎶 Making music with Mrs. Sofia Guerra! 🎶

Our 5th graders are expanding their musical skills this week as they learn to play the alto, tenor, and bass recorders! 🎵

Students are discovering how each recorder has its own unique size, sound, and role while building their confidence as young musicians. We love seeing our students try something new and make beautiful music together! 💚🐆🎼

🗺️ Learning Texas geography got a little messy today—and we loved it! 🤠🎨

Our 7th graders brought Texas geography to life by creating 3D elevation maps out of salt dough! Students shaped the landforms and then painted their maps using either elevation colors to show changes in land height or region colors to identify the four regions of Texas.

From mountains and plains to the coastal areas, students were able to see, build, and explore the geography of our great state with their own hands. What a fun way to turn learning into an experience they’ll remember! 💚🐆

Because sometimes the best learning is a little messy! 😊

🌉 Bridge Building Challenge! 🏗️🔬

Our 8th grade scientists put their Engineering Design Process skills to the test with an exciting Bridge Building Challenge!

Students had to identify the criteria and constraints, design and sketch a solution, and then build a prototype based on their approved drawing. The challenge? Build the strongest bridge for the lowest cost using only 10 notecards and 30 cm of tape! 😲

Once their designs were approved, the clock started ⏱️—they had just 15 minutes to build!

It was incredible to see the teamwork, problem-solving, creativity, and engineering happening in the classroom. They weren’t just building bridges—they were learning how engineers plan, design, test, and improve solutions! 💡💪

Way to go, 8th grade engineers! 🌉🐆💚
