Meals on Wheels Waco Meals on Wheels Waco is a nonprofit organization located in Waco, TX. Meals On Wheels Waco is a nutrition program for homebound senior adults. to 6 p.m.

Lunches are prepared and delivered to 750 clients five days a week from 44 different sites in the Waco area. Senior activity centers:

Senior activity centers typically operate Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., with a nutritionally-balanced lunch provided at noon. Some centers offer afternoon activities or hold dances in the evenings. The mission of each senior center is to provide a

social context in which older adults can stay active, develop community and gain information on resources available to help them. CTSM Transit:

The transportation system provides rides to jobs, medical facilities, grocery stores, hospitals, clinics, social service agencies, pharmacies, etc. The shuttle typically operates from 8 a.m. on a scheduled pick-up and drop-off basis.

Some conversations happened at the doorstep. Others around the living room. One even by a bedside.

Today, Baylor Head Football Coach Dave Aranda joined us on a Meals on Wheels route, and wherever he met our older neighbors, he brought genuine conversation, laughter, and excitement for the upcoming football season.

Every visit looked a little different, but every one ended the same way -- with smiles.

A big thank you to the Bernard and Audre Rapoport Foundation for graciously opening your doors and hosting our Board of Directors meeting yesterday. Thank you, Casey Sadler for hosting and the tech assist!

The change of scenery was a wonderful opportunity for our board to gather, connect, and focus on the important work of serving older adults in our community.

Last Sunday, a small group of our volunteers from New Road Church of Christ surprised one of our homebound seniors with a birthday cake, balloon, and treats. With no family nearby, he was deeply touched that someone took the time to celebrate his special day. "I just adore all of you," says 75-year-old Gary.

Moments like these remind us that being a neighbor is about more than living nearby. It's about noticing, caring, and making sure older adults know they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.

Meet two of our incredible Tri-Cities volunteers -- Freda and Lester -- each faithfully delivering meals on their own routes more than twice every week.

94-year-old Lester is a beautiful reminder that there's no age limit on making a difference. He continues to ensure other older adults in our community receive not just a meal, but a friendly face and a reminder that someone cares.

On top of her twice-a-week meal route, Freda is always ready to jump in and help on other days.

This is what being a neighbor for seniors looks like -- caring and showing up! Thank you Freda and Lester for making our community stronger, one meal delivery at a time. 🧡
