The results are in, and while we came up short of advancing through the primary, I am incredibly grateful.

4,122 people voted and put their trust in me and this campaign. That is something I will never take lightly.

To everyone who voted, put up a sign, shared a post, stopped for a conversation, sent a message, or supported this campaign in any way, thank you.
To my team, and most importantly my family, thank you for standing beside me throughout this journey. I could not have done it without you.

I entered this race because I believed there was an opportunity to bring a different perspective to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office, one centered on leadership, accountability, employee support, training, and service to our community. I still believe in those things today. I still believe the ones who serve this community need support.

I am proud of the campaign we ran, proud of what we stood for, and humbled by the support we received.

TODAY IS ELECTION DAY.

Over the last several months, I’ve done my best to show you who I am, what I believe in, and the kind of leadership I would bring to the Carver County Sheriff’s Office. I hope to have earned your trust and confidence.

Please get out and vote. No matter who you support, make your voice heard. Polls open at 7:00 AM in most locations and close at 8:00 PM.

Carver County, tomorrow is the Primary Election.

Over the course of this campaign, I’ve talked about leadership, accountability, supporting our deputies and employees, serving this amazing community and my vision for the future of the Carver County Sheriff’s Office.

Keeping our community safe is personal to me. I believe in the change we’re fighting for, and I’m ready to lead a Sheriff’s Office built on trust, accountability, and leadership that shows up.

This campaign has always been about something bigger than a title. It’s about building a stronger Sheriff’s Office and delivering the leadership our deputies, employees, and communities deserve.

We need to modernize how we support our staff.

My vision includes a hands-on peer support program where leadership is directly involved. This isn’t just a policy, it’s a commitment to every member of the department. Based on years of experience, I will personally help lead its development.

No leader walks in on day one with all the answers. But saying there isn’t time for initiatives like this misses what leadership requires today. Supporting the people who serve our communities isn’t an extra responsibility, it’s part of the job.

Fairness shouldn’t be a matter of opinion.

No pay-for-performance. No subjective decisions about who deserves what.

I’m pushing for a clear, structured pay system that mirrors the best departments in Minnesota, one where deputies and staff know where they stand, what they’ve earned, and what their future looks like.

Our people deserve consistency. They deserve transparency. They deserve a predictable future.
Fair pay shouldn’t depend on who you are. It should depend on a system everyone can trust.

This topic is extremely important to me and I hope you take some time to look this over. Veterans understand something that can’t be taught in a classroom.

They’ve already sworn an oath. They’ve accepted that service comes before self, and they’ve lived in environments where teamwork, discipline, accountability, and sacrifice aren’t just words, they’re expectations.

For many veterans, that commitment doesn’t end when they take off the uniform.
They continue serving in law enforcement, corrections, fire, EMS, and other public service roles. The uniform may change, but the purpose remains the same: serving and protecting their communities.

As Sheriff, I want the Carver County Sheriff’s Office to actively recruit veterans and make their transition into law enforcement as seamless as possible. Using GI Bill benefits during Field Training is helpful, but it isn’t enough. We should streamline the hiring process, remove unnecessary barriers, use VA accredited psychologists, and recognize the leadership and experience veterans have already earned.

Veterans have already proven they’re willing to answer the call. We should do everything we can to give them the opportunity to continue serving right here at home.

The mission changes. The commitment doesn’t.
