🚒🔥 Congratulations Brandon!

Congratulations to Firefighter Brandon Kolesar on his retirement from the Waconia Fire Department after 30 years of dedicated service to the Waconia community.

Brandon was recognized for his commitment and service during the May 4, 2026 City Council Meeting, surrounded by fellow firefighters, city leaders, family, and friends. Over the past three decades, Brandon has answered the call countless times — serving with professionalism, courage, and dedication to protecting our community. He was also an instrumental part of creating the City’s fire prevention program, which continues to educate more than 500 children each year.

Thank you, Brandon, for your years of service, leadership, and commitment to the City of Waconia. We wish you all the best in retirement! 🚒👏

The Waconia Fire Department is thrilled to partner with Waconia Community Education & Recreation and Waconia City Government to offer FREE CPR & AED Certification for all local residents.

Thanks to generous funding from the Waconia Fire Relief Association, you can gain life-saving skills at no cost!

What you get: A 3-hour hands-on session and an official American Heart Association (AHA) Certification Card.

🚒 Congratulations to our Fire Department!
At last week’s City Council meeting, we proudly promoted and swore in several firefighters.

👨‍🚒 Jacob Nelson was promoted to Captain.
👨‍🚒 Simon Malinski, Michael Coughlin, Luke Meier, Adam Vanderbeek, and Jackson Rauchwarter were sworn in and officially moved from probationary to active firefighter status.
👨‍🚒 Carter Borg, previously moved to active status earlier this year, also received his badge pinning.

Thank you all for your dedication and service to our community! 🔥👏
