Waconia Public Schools

Waconia Public Schools A public school district serving 4,000 students and families in early childhood through 12th grade. Bonifacius, and New Germany.

The Waconia Public Schools, also known as Independent School District 110, provides outstanding education to students who reside in Waconia, Minnetrista, St. We are a welcoming school community, located in Carver and Hennepin Counties, about 20 miles west of the Highway 494 loop around Minneapolis. Waconia Community Education is also a part of the Waconia Public Schools, and includes Early Childho

od Family Education (ECFE), Kids Company (school aged day care), and Wildcat Preschool, along with hundreds of opportunities for recreation and education for all district residents. Approximately 4,000 students are learning in our schools every day, with class sizes lower than many metro area school districts. The size of our relatively small district, schools, and classes allows us to focus on students as individuals and meet their academic, emotional, artistic, health, and athletic needs. Students receive education in three elementary schools (Kindergarten through grade 5), one middle school (grades 6-8) and one high school (grades 9-12).

As we wrap up the 2025–26 school year, our end-of-year survey results reflect a strong and supportive school community across Waconia Public Schools. Students, parents, and staff continue to report high levels of engagement, satisfaction, and pride in their schools.

Highlights include strong agreement that students feel safe, welcomed, and supported; that learning is engaging and challenging; and that staff feel both proud of their work and energized in their roles. These results also affirm the strong relationships between students and educators and the high level of trust within our schools.

While we celebrate these encouraging outcomes, we also remain committed to listening, learning, and using this feedback to continue improving the educational experience for every student.

Thanks for highlighting our Entrepreneurship class within the Industrial Technology Department at Waconia High School, Waconia Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau!

This class is open to students in grades 9-12. You can learn a little more about it here: Students will learn the challenges of starting and running a business as they set up their own company for production of a product(s) for sale to earn money as they learn. Students will have experience with company structure, finances, marketing, and personnel management.

The Entrepreneurship class at Waconia High School is a group of really talented kids, and we’re lucky to have their creativity on display at our events! These custom pieces were designed and created by the students, and they did an amazing job. Thank you for sharing your talents–we can't wait to use them throughout the year!

Last week, Mr. Berg's A.P. Biology class at Waconia High School completed a Biology-related Escape Room. Students were challenged to solve a genetics code from a myriad of biology-related puzzles and lock boxes to “save” Mr. Berg from the notorious Dr. Berger (shown here)…. which they did in the time allowed!

Tonight, we celebrate the Waconia High School Class of 2026 — a remarkable group of students whose hard work, determination, and growth have brought them to this milestone moment.

Over the past 13+ years, these graduates have challenged themselves in the classroom, on the field, on the stage, and throughout our community. Along the way, they have embodied the values that makes Waconia Public Schools special: Respect, Collaboration, Inclusiveness, Empathy, and Resilience. These values have helped shape not only what they have accomplished, but who they have become.

As they crossed the stage this evening, they did so having embraced our mission to Explore Your Passions and Create Your Success. For some, the next chapter will lead to college, careers, military service, technical training, travel, or opportunities yet to be imagined. Whatever path they choose, they leave Waconia with the knowledge, skills, and character to make a positive impact on the world around them.

While tonight marks the end of one journey, it is also the beginning of countless new possibilities. We are excited to see where life takes the members of the Class of 2026 and all that they will accomplish in the years ahead.

Congratulations, Wildcats. Remember that no matter where your future leads, you will always be a part of the fabric of the Waconia community. Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat. 💜💛🎓🐾

This morning served as a special prelude to tonight’s Class of 2026 graduation ceremony as graduating seniors returned to Waconia Middle School, the District’s three elementary schools, and the Early Childhood Center/District Office for the annual Senior Walk.

Students walked the halls where many of their educational journeys began, greeted with cheers, high-fives, and congratulations from Wildcats of all ages. It was a memorable full-circle moment celebrating not only how far these seniors have come, but also the example they set for the students following in their footsteps.

Tonight’s graduation ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the Waconia High School Gymnasium.

A ticket is required for entry into the gymnasium. Overflow seating will be available in the Performing Arts Center, where the ceremony will be broadcast on a large screen. The ceremony will also be live streamed on YouTube for anyone without a ticket or for out-of-town family and friends. Students in Mrs. Mann’s Fashion Design elective at Waconia High School recently wrapped up a “Style a Teacher” project that walked them through an authentic, real-world design process. Before selecting a style season for their teacher, students first participated in a mini-training focused on color analysis and seasonal styling principles.

From there, each student created an initial mini mood board based on their perception of how their chosen teacher typically dresses. Students then connected with their teacher through an interview or email exchange to present their first draft and gather feedback. Using that input, they revised their concepts into a second draft and shared it again for any final thoughts.

The feedback and collaboration throughout the process ultimately led to a polished, full-size final style board featuring an updated color palette, wardrobe recommendations, and QR codes linking teachers directly to curated clothing pieces selected specifically for them.

The project emphasized authentic client communication, creative problem-solving, and the iterative design process while also helping strengthen meaningful connections between students and staff.
