The Waddington Volunteer Fire Department will participate in the annual RecruitNY Weekend by hosting an open house on Saturday, April 18 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at 51 Maple St., Waddington, NY.

We would like to invite all of our community members to tour the station and all of the new renovations that have recently been completed. We will also be showing our fire trucks to which we are very proud of. Firefighters and divers from our newly formed dive team will be available to answer questions and families are encouraged to attend.

This event is open to all community members who would like to see the big things that are happening at your local fire department. We will also have applications on hand for anyone who may be interested in joining the fire department. We look forward to seeing everyone.

Burn Ban starting March 16th!!!!

⚠️ Melting Ice Safety Alert ⚠️

As temperatures rise, ice on lakes, ponds, and rivers become thin, weak, and unpredictable. What looked safe yesterday may break today.

❄️ Stay off thinning ice – Never walk, skate, or play on melting lakes, ponds, or rivers.
🚶 Watch your step – Melting ice and water can create extremely slippery surfaces.
👨‍👩‍👧 Protect children & pets – Keep them away from frozen water during thaw periods.
📞 Act fast – If someone falls through ice, call 911 immediately.

👉 If you’re unsure about the ice, stay off it. No ice is worth the risk!

Stay aware. Stay safe.

The Waddington Fire Department will be holding an ice rescue training at the Waddington Beach on Saturday February 28th. There is currently a large hole in the ice with cones around it. Please use caution if you are on the ice in this area. Please leave this area open on Saturday to allow our first responders the space needed to train.
