This morning, AMS staff enjoyed breakfast from the Lady Bug (sponsored by the PTO) and Rayfield’s Sausage and Bacon (sponsored by some wonderful community ladies - Caty Edwards, Brooke Crider, Whitney Scarborough, Kelly Sheppard, Ashley Scarborough, and Katie Scarborough). A HUGE thank you to all!

Press Release November 8, 2022:

Mr. Arthur Jackson has been named the Interim Principal of Anson Middle School. Mr. Jackson has spent the last year as principal of Wadesboro Primary School. Prior to coming to Anson, he spent several years of his career in the Moore County School District as an assistant principal at Pinecrest High School and as an English Teacher in the Richmond County School District for 20 years. Mr. Jackson is a licensed administrator in the state of North Carolina. In 1997, he earned his Bachelor Degree in Pre-Law with a minor in Criminal Justice from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In 2018, he earned his Master of Educational Leadership Degree from Gardner-Webb University. When asked about hiring Mr. Jackson to be the principal of Anson Middle School, Superintendent Howard McLean stated, “Mr. Jackson is a fantastic fit for Anson Middle School. His classroom and school leadership experience has prepared him to lead Anson Middle School to unprecedented heights. I am confident that he will be deeply invested into serving his school’s students, staff, and stakeholders”.
Mr. Jackson states, “I look forward to working with the Anson County Community. I believe that we can achieve great things together. Go Bearcats!”

Mr. Jackson will officially begin his new role on November 14, 2022.

You can now register online to participate in Anson County Parks & Recreation Youth Basketball! These programs are a direct feeder for our school athletic programs and we would love to see your participation and support! A Pre-K - Kindergarten team will be offered as well.

Due to being under a tropical storm warning with potential damaging wind gusts affecting our area on Friday, all schools and district offices will be closed on Friday, September 30, 2022. Students will transition to a remote learning day for Friday, September 30, 2022. Hard copy work packets with instructions for completing assignments for Friday will be given to students before leaving school today. Staff will need to follow the email communication guidance that will be sent out from the district office today. Additionally, the SAT scheduled for Saturday, October 1 at Anson High School has been canceled. Thank you and stay safe!

Debido a estar bajo una advertencia de tormenta tropical con posibles ráfagas de viento dañinas que afectan nuestra área el viernes, todas las escuelas y oficinas del distrito estarán cerradas el viernes 30 de septiembre de 2022. Los estudiantes harán la transición a un día de aprendizaje remoto para el viernes 30 de septiembre de 2022. Los paquetes de trabajo impresos con instrucciones para completar las tareas para el viernes se entregarán a los estudiantes antes de salir de la escuela hoy.
