Happy first full week of summer vacation ELF! What a whirlwind few weeks it has been! From exciting field trips and career exploration opportunities to heartfelt bridging ceremonies and countless special moments, our scholars have truly shined bright all year long. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and grateful for the memories made together as a Frierson family. 💙

As summer begins, we encourage our students to keep their curiosity growing because learning doesn’t stop when school is out! Reading, exploring, creating, and discovering new interests are all wonderful ways to continue learning throughout the summer months.

What a GREAT week at Frierson!

Our scholars finished STRONG this week as they wrapped up SC READY testing! Way to go, Frierson scholars—you did it!

A huge THANK YOU to the Cushing family for their generous donation of our new Blessing Box and Little Library Box! These special additions will continue to spread kindness, provide resources, and support our school community in meaningful ways.

And we wrapped up the week the Frierson way—hands-on learning and community partnerships! Our Lower El, Upper El, and Adolescent programs spent the day at Cherry Point with our amazing community partner, DNR, participating in a restoration project. Learning, serving, and making a difference all at once? That’s Frierson Montessori in action!

Happy Monday!

We're almost through our testing season! We want to remind everyone that SC READY testing resumes tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Our students have been working incredibly hard, and we are so proud of their focus and determination!

To help your scholars do their absolute best to finish strong, ensure that they get early to bed, eat a nutritious breakfast, arrive on time and send them off with a word of encouragement.

Don't forget! Our School Improvement Council (SIC) will be holding a virtual meeting tomorrow, Tues. May 12 at 6:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to stay involved and hear about the wonderful things happening at our school.

What an incredible way to wrap up Teacher Appreciation Week at Edith L. Frierson Montessori School!

This week has been filled with love, encouragement, treats, and celebration for the amazing staff who pour into our scholars every single day. We closed our week by shouting out our incredible Support Team, Intervention Team, SAIL Teacher and KScope Team for the dedication and care they bring to our school community.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our wonderful PTA, Admin Team and all of our Frierson families who helped make this week so special for our staff. Your kindness and generosity never go unnoticed!

We also want to give a HUGE congratulations to Frierson’s very first 8th Grade CHAMP Award recipients! Last night, they were recognized by Charleston County School District for their perseverance, character, and leadership. We are so proud!

And to top it all off — our Upper El/Adolescent Spring Fling was a SUCCESS! The students had an absolute blast making memories, enjoying time together, and celebrating the end of an amazing week.

As we continue celebrating Teacher Appreciation Week, today was filled with gratitude and reflection.

A special thank you to Charleston County School District for treating our staff to a delicious pizza lunch today! We also proudly recognized our energetic Instructional Arts Team and our awesome Adolescent Team for the passion, creativity, and dedication they bring to our scholars each day.
Tomorrow — Friday, May 8 — EVERYONE will have the opportunity to indulge in another special treat as Travelin' Tom's Coffee visits campus during carline!

Lastly, we pause to honor one of the most faithful volunteers our school community has ever known, Ms. Cynthia L. Kridler. For more than 12 years, Ms. Kridler poured love and generosity into our ELF family through countless donations, support for students and staff, and helping fund numerous field trips and experiences for our scholars. Her kindness and servant heart helped shape our community in meaningful ways, and her impact will forever be part of Frierson’s story. She will be forever missed.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚 and we’re committed to supporting the well-being of our students, families, and community.

Charleston County School District invites all parents and caregivers to join us for tonight’s virtual session, Ending the Silence. This important conversation will provide insight, resources, and ways to support youth mental health.

Day 2 of testing is in the books and running smoothly—we’re so proud of our students and staff! We’re ready for Part 2 of ELA tomorrow!

Teacher Appreciation Week has been absolutely delightful so far! We kicked things off with a big, bad breakfast from the McClure family—thank you! We also included a shoutout to our amazing cafeteria staff, day porters, and Primary Team for all they do each day.

Today, we kept the fun rolling with a traveling snack cart (with tunes 🎶!) celebrating our Lower Elementary Team, Nurse Shannon, and Deputy Garris.

We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! 💙
