Today's fire training focused on the setup and breakdown of the portable pond utilized in water shuttles, drafting from a static water source, and fill site operations for these shuttles. This operation is used where fire hydrants are unavailable. Tankers deliver water into the portable pond, ensuring the attack engine has a continuous water supply while the tankers are being refilled. We depend on mutual aid from our neighboring departments, who provide tankers, to maintain an uninterrupted water supply for fighting the fire. The tanker capacities in our area range from 1,800 to 3,000 gallons.
