From The Chiefs Desk:
As many of you from the Waggaman Community know Mr. Sam from our Foundation, S1 and civics groups.
He wanted to acknowledge a young man who is pictured with Mr. Sam and his grandfather.
Last week Xavier was at Thomas Jefferson Park by the library with friends. During their visit Xavier found some property that he knew someone had lost. Xavier and his friend then brought the property to the fire station, because they did not know what else or who else to tell.
The staff on duty was able to determine the property belonged to Mr. Sam, made contact with him and return it.
Mr. Sam wanted to meet on Monday at the station to acknowledge that Xavier did a very honorable thing by turning the property in. Also wanted to recognize the Fire Department for creating such a trust in our community that Xavier did not hesitate to come to the station.
I would like to thank Xavier for doing what was right, thank Mr. Sam for acknowledging Xavier and the department.

We here at Live Oak Manor Vol Fire Department, The Board of Directors, the Firefighters and the Chief want to say.
Happy 250th Anniversary to the United States of America.
We also want to wish a happy 4th of July to everyone. Especially to our firefighters and all firefighters and first responders working a shift today. Be safe and have fun with family and friends.

From The Chiefs Desk:
With Hurricane Season upon us, I'd like to obtain some very helpful information from our community. God willing we will get through this season without any incidents and issues. However, the information I would like to list can assist us in serving the community best. If you have any individuals living in your homes or know a neighbor that has or is a special needs or medical needs person. Please call or stop in at either of the stations and we can compile a list for our knowledge. This information can and will assist us in having prior knowledge if we incur a weather or other emergency event. Many of our citizens are not on social media, so please check on your neighbors and friends and inform them to reach out to the fire department. The parish administration and emergency management are also attempting to compile a list. We will make sure that the information is given to them also.
