In an effort to allow the Commissioners to attend the hearing in relation to CV25-111 Persica Solar vs. Wagoner County et. al. currently scheduled at 9:00am on Monday, the Board of Commissioners has moved the time for their meeting on Monday, August 31st to 1:00pm. We will resume the normal meeting time in September.

Wagoner County Clerk Announces Completion of Historic Property Records Project

More than a century of Wagoner County property records is now searchable online at no charge to the public.

WAGONER COUNTY, Oklahoma — The Wagoner County Clerk’s Office is pleased to announce the completion of a major records preservation and accessibility project that makes Wagoner County property records dating from 1900 to the present searchable online.
The multi-year project involved indexing more than a century of property records, transforming records that once required an in-person visit to the courthouse and a manual search through index books and assistance from county staff, into a searchable digital resource available to the public online.
“We are very excited to now be able to provide access to more than 125 years of historical property records online, still at no cost to the public.” Said Wagoner County Clerk, Lori Hendricks. “These records tell so many stories. From someone researching the history of their family’s original tribal allotment to a title company researching property ownership today, it is really about recognizing that these records belong to the people of Wagoner County, and we want to make them as accessible as possible.”

Of particular historical significance, the online collection also provides access to tribal allotment information contained within Wagoner County’s early land records. These records document an important period in the history of land ownership in what eventually became Wagoner County and can provide valuable information for property research, historical research, and genealogy.

Funding for the project came from fees collected through the recording and filing of documents in the County Clerk’s Office, along with grant funding provided through the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA). “I am very thankful that the Board of Commissioners saw the importance of this project and elected to provide over $400,000.00 in ARPA grant funding to help complete it”, said Hendricks.

The expanded online system will benefit property owners, title companies, attorneys, real estate professionals, surveyors, genealogists, historians, and researchers, as well as members of the public.

“County government should constantly be looking for ways to use technology to make services more convenient and accessible for the people we serve,” Hendricks said. “But this project is about more than convenience. These records are part of Wagoner County’s history. Making our early land and allotment records available alongside the property records of today connects more than a century of our county’s history in one searchable resource.”

Even when the lights go out, county business continues, at least until we learn the severity of the outage. The courthouse will remain closed for the remainder of today while the city works to restore service, but the commissioners finished their meeting by flashlight. The numbers are in! Wagoner County just completed another fiscal year and the things this office continues to accomplish with a staff of 12 full time employees is nothing short of impressive! In Fiscal Year 2025-2026, our office processed:

Documents in Land Records: 21,428, in increase over last year of 2,187 documents.
Total Filing Fees Collected: $2,474,996.40, an increase of $179,738.78.
Filing Fees Appropriated to the General Fund: $727,761.81, an increase of $82,108.07. Our filing fees cover our General Fund budget by 102%. We are a donor account, providing funding for other offices through the fees collected in Land Records.
Copies provided: 12,208, an increase of 6,739!
Plats filed: 21, an increase of 7. Wagoner County is GROWING!
Purchase Orders Processed: 9,165, an increase of 9.
Total Payments Processed: $43,240,042.05, an increase of $5,566,684.44.
New Hires Processed: 129, an increase of 41.
Separations Processed: 80, a decrease of 1.
