Today we ask you to join us in taking a few minutes to remember this tragic day. We were all affected, some more than others, but all must never forget those who were lost, and those who lost family and friends.

Last evening a group of volunteer members and their families were treated to a group outing at the Reading Phillies game. Bus transportation, a delicious food buffet, and great seats to watch the game were provided for all. Some of our group was even picked to participate in an on-field slingshot competition between innings!! A huge thank you to our Recruitment/Retention Committee, lead by Bob Wasson, for organizing this great outing! Also thanks to the crew who volunteered to stay behind and staff the station, and cover calls while the group was away! It was a great outing that we did not allow a little rain to dampen!!

At almost 1 week post storm that affected a vast majority of our townships residents and businesses, power has been restored and roads have been cleared/re-opened. What is left to do? Say thank you, that's what! We would like to thank our partners in public safety for their tiring assistance over the last stretch of days. Without a selfless group effort we would not have been able to handle the number of calls for help as we did, especially in the first 48 hours post-storm. To accomplish what was done it took cooperation from West Caln Public Works, West Caln Emergency Management, West Caln Police Department, Westwood EMS, West Brandywine Public Works, West Brandywine Police Department, PECO and various other utilty companies, and our very own volunteer responders from Wagontown Vol. Fire Company. Also, thank you to our very supportive and patient township residents, who understood the magnitude of the damage as we all worked tirelessly to answer the calls for assistance.

Earlier today Captain M. Stein and Firefighter M. Moffa answered a request into the station of a resident who needed the batteries changed in her smoke detectors. Unable to climb a ladder, she reached out for assistance. Keeping our residents and visitors safe is our mission, sometimes it takes a little extra effort.
