Starting April 30, 2024, all Hawaii Commissaries are taking a step towards sustainability by discontinuing plastic/paper bags. Reusable bags will be available for $.35 each to support environmental efforts and reduce landfill waste.

Here's what you need to know:
Who: All Hawaii Commissaries
What: No more single-use bags
When: Effective April 30, 2024

Update April 12, 6 p.m.: HECO has reported full restoration of power. If you are still experiencing a power outage in the residential communities, please contact Island Palm Communities (IPC) at +1 (808) 457-4075.

Update April 12, 3:45 p.m.: HECO crews are currently inspecting the 46kV power line, including overhead flying inspections.

The new estimated time of restoration (ETR) is approximately 6 p.m. ETR time may change due to repair process and procedures.

Reminder: Please be aware of changes in facility hours at Schofield Barracks due to the ongoing outage.

Update April 12, 2:30 p.m.: Notice: Changes in Facility Hours at Schofield Barracks.

Please be advised that some facilities on Schofield Barracks have adjusted their hours and services. Before visiting any facility, we strongly recommend contacting them directly to confirm their current operating hours. Operating hours for the Soldier Support Center, and ASAP will close at 3 p.m. if power is not restored by then.

Update April 12, 12:50 p.m.: We are currently experiencing a power outage due to an issue with Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO) on the Wahiawa-Waialua 46kV circuit. This incident affects the Castner Substation and extends to all Mehoner circuits connected to it.

HECO is aware of the problem and will be conducting inspections on the affected 46kV circuit. They are working diligently to restore power and have provided an estimated time of restoration (ETR) of approximately 5 hours from now. https://x.com/HwnElectric/status/1778917764255613396

At this time, we do not know when power will be restored, but we will post updates as we get them.
