Great opportunity to worship with ten members of the St Martin family as they were confirmed by Bishop Jones. Since we are in Hawaii, how better way to celebrate than spending the rest of the afternoon together at the beach. US Army Hawaii Religious Support Office; Anglican Chaplains

Our Women's book study group met tonight to discuss what we learned during the first week of our new study on the New Testament book of Hebrews. We are using Jen Wilkins' "Better" as a guide. Join us in two weeks on October 3 when we meet to discuss the second week of the study. We start with a light dinner at 1800 and normally meet at the Pickerings' house. Mary's Magnificat (Luke 1.46-55)

46 And Mary said, “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
48 for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant. For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
49 for he who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
50 And his mercy is for those who fear him from generation to generation.
51 He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts;
52 he has brought down the mighty from their thrones and exalted those of humble estate;
53 he has filled the hungry with good things, and the rich he has sent away empty.
54 He has helped his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy,
55 as he spoke to our fathers, to Abraham and to his offspring forever.”

And after six days Jesus took with him Peter and James, and John his brother, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. 2 And he was transfigured before them, and his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light. 3 And behold, there appeared to them Moses and Elijah, talking with him. 4 And Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah.” 5 He was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my beloved Son,[a] with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.” 6 When the disciples heard this, they fell on their faces and were terrified. 7 But Jesus came and touched them, saying, “Rise, and have no fear.” 8 And when they lifted up their eyes, they saw no one but Jesus only. - Matthew 17.1-8
