WAHOO RESIDENTS - A reminder as we prepare for potentially dangerous weather situations: Our civic defense sirens will sound one long continuous sound when activated for hazardous weather emergencies such as a tornado warning or tornado emergency. We DO NOT have an all clear signal, so if you hear the siren again with the same continuous long sound, remain sheltered. Also, our civil defense sirens are also known as OUTDOOR warning sirens. They are not designed for the sound to reach indoors, so be sure to use your weather radios or other methods of notification while indoors. You may hear the outdoor sirens inside your home if you are close enough to the siren, or have your windows open, but they are OUTDOOR warning sirens.

Wahoo's four civil defense sirens are located strategically across the community, with the placement determined by sound engineers who were consulted when the sirens were installed. Our sirens are maintained by professionals on a regular basis - with the 2026 annual inspection just completed in March. They have batteries (so they will work in power outages) that are also tested, maintained, and changed when they've reached their useful life. Protocols are in place for when the sirens are activated. We hope you take a moment to put together your own plan for potential dangerous weather situations!

Our annual Salad & Dessert Dinner fundraiser was a success! Thank you to all of the table host for decorating and preparing delicious food! Also special thank you to students from Bishop Neumann & Wahoo Public who attended in Prom attire. The evening was fabulous!
