It has been a busy couple of weeks around Dakota Air Spray. We have been topdressing corn that is in need of some extra fertility, protecting sugar beets, potatoes and sunflowers from disease, and killing weeds.‼️On the horizon are a few things that farmers should be on the lookout for‼️. We are just getting into corn fungicide season and while we have been lucky in the past to have fairly light disease pressure in corn compared to our neighbors to the south we have been hearing reports of diseases such as tar spot working their way into our area this season. Unfortunately once you see symptoms of it in your fields it is usually to late so it might be worth looking at preventative measures. It is also time to be on the lookout for corn borer if you have conventional/ untraited corn. We have been seeing plenty of moth activity which means its time to be watching for eggs and larva on your corn plants. As one last word of caution we have started seeing armyworm populations in wheat fields in certain pockets of our service area. This is not a pest that we see every year in this area but it can wipe out wheat yield in a hurry if left unchecked. It seems that there is no time to rest when it comes to crop scouting. There are a lot of great looking crops around this year and we hope they stay that way until harvest!

Thanks to all who came out to our emergency response training last night. We were lucky enough to be joined by Richland County EMS, fire departments, ambulance districts, 911 communications dept, and law enforcement. It was a great opportunity to cover some important and helpful tips on responding to aviation emergencies as well as situations involving pesticides and other crop protection products. Dakota Air Spray would like to thank all of the groups that attended for all that they do serve and protect our local communities!

The past few days have been spent trying to honor a woman who spent her entire life working for the betterment of our industry and our community! Cindy Schreiber-Beck has been a cornerstone of ND Aviation and especially Ag Aviation for as long as anyone here at Dakota Air Spray can remember. Cindy and Gerry literally and figuratively built the foundation of what our company stands upon today. Cindy has had such a positive impact on so many people, from all of us personally at DAS, to the entire Ag Aviation industry, Warbird community, ND Aeronautics, the communities of Breckenridge/ Wahpeton, and the state of North Dakota. What an amazing life to celebrate! Fly High Cindy, you will be missed!

Thank You to all who stopped out to our Dakota Air Spray Wahpeton customer appreciation event! We had a great time serving all of our friends and customers.
