The Richland County Soil Conservation District was organized in 1943 as the South Richland SCD, in cooperation with the Antelope SCD in the same year, to service Richland County. The Antelope SCD and South Richland SCD consolidated in 1969 to form the Richland SCD that you know today.

We have decided to start a new page due to another Soil Conservation district in another state with same page. So to keep the confusion from happening our new page is now Richland County ND Soil Conservation District. We will also hopefully be getting the new website up and going soon, which will be richlandscd.com Sorry for keeping everyone jumping around but we need to make changes to keep everyone less confused. Hope this new way will make it easier for communication the happenings here at Richland SCD in ND. Thank You

We are now taking handplant tree orders for the 2022 spring planting. If you want to have a order form sent to you just message us back with your email address. All the information is on the order form. Also we are still taking machine planting, roto tilling and grass seeding for spring of 2022. Thank You.

The application period for the 2022 OHF tree planting cost share program has opened up and will be open for a short period of time. It is a 75/25 cost share and a minimum of 2500 total lineal feet is needed in order to be able to apply for the program. If you are interested please contact the SCD in Wahpeton and we can go over the requirements. Period closes soon. You can also message us here and we will get back in touch with you. Period closes Aug. 23rd. 2021.

Richland SCD will hold it's end of planting season tree sale this Friday the 28th of May at the shop behind the USDA building in Wahpeton. We will accept cash or check only. We will be open from 7:30am to 4:30pm on a first come first serve basis. We have a variety of trees left over and in different sizes. $2 per tree or $30 for bundle of 25. Taller trees will be $3-$4 each depending on size. These are bare root trees. We limited on potted evergreens but have a few left. Potted plants are $8.50 each and around 16 to 24 inches tall. No early sales will take place.

This Friday ( March 26) is the last day for taking any handplant orders. Tree availability is very limited now so some will not be available. We are no longer taking any machine planting as well.
There will be a day announced (after all the preorders and machine planting has been completed )for selling any of the left over trees. This day will be announced when we have a better time frame.

TIME IS RUNNING OUT!!! Don't delay getting your trees ordered for handplanting for this spring. We are starting to get limited on some of them so the longer you wait, you may not be able to purchase them through us. This is just a reminder that we are taking orders for the 2021 spring handplant trees. If you need an order form please message us here with your email address and we will email you one back. We do have a few openings yet for nonfunded machine plantings also.

The 2021 hand plant tree orders are now being taken. Call the office at 701-642-5997 ext.3 and ask for person who handles the tree program. Also hopefully you can go online to richlandscd.com and print a tree order form and send in. We also still have room for some non funded machine planting for spring of 2021.
