🧵✂️ A young entrepreneur is officially in business!

The Twin Town Ambassadors & Chamber of Commerce had the absolute pleasure of celebrating 12-year-old Miley Cizek with a First Dollar & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony! 💵🎀

Miley learned how to sew from her aunt during a one-week visit to Bottineau, and it didn’t take long for that new skill to turn into a little business of her own! Today, she creates wristlet keychains, bibs, bandanas, chapstick holders, magnetic bookmarks, and more—with her wristlet keychains currently taking the title of BESTSELLER. 🙌

Miley has always loved crafting and keeping busy, and this new venture even helps fund another one of her hobbies—collecting football cards! 🏈😂 She already has plenty of ideas for what’s next, including baskets, zipper projects, and even experimenting with one-of-a-kind clothing creations.

Most items are just $5, with bookmarks at $3, and Miley can even take special requests for different fabrics or sizes. Since she’s a 7th grader and not quite in the social media world yet, orders and questions can be directed through her mom, Emily Cizek.

Congratulations, Miley! We LOVE seeing young entrepreneurs learn a new skill, get creative, and turn something they enjoy into something all their own. We have a feeling this is only the beginning! 💙🧵

🍋🤠 Well, well, well… look who’s headed BACK to the NDSCS Block Party!

Last year, Find N’ Freeze was a HIT — and that summer heat certainly helped make things extra FROZEN. 🥶😂 This year, we’re switching things up… and trust us when we say our lemons are definately in a row. 🍋👀

What does that mean? You’ll have to stop by our booth to find out! All we’ll say is… it’s bound to be a rootin’, hootin’, wranglin’ good time. 🤠🍋

And just like that… Miles’ summer at the Chamber has come to an end! 🥤🎨

Over the past two months, our intern Miles Anderson jumped right into Chamber life — helping with everything from Borderline Chalkfest and Yard of the Week to social media, community events, office projects and plenty of tasks he probably never expected when he signed up. 😂 Along the way, he met local business owners, learned a little more about what happens behind the scenes in our community and, according to Miles, discovered you should never underestimate the power of a good laminator!

Before we officially sent him on his way, we gave Miles one final assignment: tell us about the experience in his own words. His internship blog is now LIVE, and it’s the perfect final chapter to a summer we’re very grateful for.

Miles, THANK YOU for everything you brought to the Chamber this summer — your hard work, willingness to jump in, sense of humor and, of course, your steady supply of Dr. Pepper. 🥤 We loved having you as part of our team and can’t wait to see what’s next for you!

🎳 Yesterday, the Twin Town Ambassadors & Chamber of Commerce stopped by Terrace Lanes for our latest business spotlight, and we quickly learned there’s a LOT happening beyond those 12 lanes!

Owner Nick Heitkamp has been coming to Terrace Lanes since he was a kid and has now owned the business for several years. After learning the ins and outs of the bowling industry, Nick has continued to invest in the alley while keeping it a fun, affordable place for our community to gather. From updated TVs and games to pool tables, air hockey, glow bowling, birthday parties, volleyball courts, a six-hole frisbee golf course, and more, there’s a little something for everyone!

League season kicks off again in September, with Terrace Lanes currently looking for ladies interested in joining the Monday night women’s league. Nick also hopes to bring back youth bowling leagues and in-person bingo in the future—because if there’s one thing we learned during our visit, it’s that he always has another idea brewing! 🎳

And don’t forget, Terrace Lanes is open all summer long for open bowling, parties, Wednesday night bingo, and plenty of family fun. Even better, proceeds from gaming on the bar & casino side help support our very own Chahinkapa Zoo! 🦧💙

Thank you, Nick, for visiting with us and giving us a peek behind the scenes at Terrace Lanes. We love seeing a longtime local hangout continue to grow, change, and give our Twin Towns a place to have some FUN!
